Fans of WALLY WOOD, AL WILLIAMSON and FRANK FRAZETTA won't want to pass up back issues of CADILLACS AND DINOSAURS, as published briefly by EPIC COMICS and TOPPS COMICS in the 1990s. CADILLACS AND DINOSAURS started out as full-color reprints of the original b&w stories, which had first appeared in DEATH RATTLE #8 in 1986, and then as a regular comic book series called XENOZOIC TALES, beginning a year later, and published irregularly until it disappeared in 1996. Artist and writer MARK SCHULTZ somehow channeled the spirits of WALLY WOOD, AL WILLIAMSON and FRANK FRAZETTA, and created a post-apocalyptic Earth, in which dinosaurs were once again fully flourishing, amongst a spotty civilization of humans, who had taken shelter far underground for hundreds of years following the destruction of Earth's surface. These competing tribes of human survivors, armed with a bizarre selection of old and new technologies, are now in competition with themselves, as they also attempt to evade being consumed by herds of rampant dinosaurs! And, in case you're also a big fan of PRINCE VALIANT, that's where MARK SCHULTZ has been calling home since 2012 -- he's the main writer now, working alongside my old ECLIPSE COMICS buddy, TOM YEATES. Great team!
