This perennial is a wild flower species that is native to South Africa and makes a stately display in the summer landscape with long leaves and large coral-red and yellow spikes. The thick leaves are evergreen and add interest to the landscape all year long. Red Hot Poker flowers grow well in full sun and in well- drained soil. They attract humming birds, bees and butterflies. They are deer resistant. Will grow 32-36 inches in zones 5-10. Germination usually occurs in 28 days.
