Vintage original 15 x 11 x 2.5 in. green leather binder of original 8x10 photographs from a ceremony honoring actor Ernest Borgnine. Entitled NEW YORK FRIARS CLUB HONORS ERNEST BORGNINE, this ceremony was held The Sheraton Centre in New York City on Thursday, October 20, 1988. The Master of Ceremonies was performed by Freddie Roman. This beautiful dark green leather binder is embossed with the Friars Club logo on the front cover with gold horizontal trim on the spine. It opens to reveal 4 blank pages followed by 3 pages serving as a program for the evening's event and a one-page letter on Friars Club stationery addressed to Ernest Borgnine at his home in Beverly Hills, California thanking him for "having been the star attraction at our Celebrity Stag Luncheon."

Mounted on the right-hand side of the following 25 pages are 25 black-and-white photographs documenting this tribute to Mr. Borgnine. Many famous names of the day are featured in these photographs (see lists below). The binder itself is in overall fine+ condition with light signs of wear on the corners and along the top of the spine and some small scratches on the front cover and and area of wear on the top left of the back cover. All of the interior pages and the photographs themselves are clean and vibrant without any flaws.  We believe that the binder offer here was the one issued to Ernest Borgnine himself due to the letter addressed to him on the Friars Club stationery.

Invited to sit on the dais were the following comedians, actors, sports figures, and other famous personalities (many of whom appear in the accompanying photographs):  John Amos, Abraham D. Beame, Richard Belzer, Ernie Borgnine, Foster Brooks, Sammy Cahn, Jack Carter, Prof. Irwin Corey, Howard Cosell, Norm Crosby, Errol Dante, Morton Downey Jr., Dr. Frank Field, Bob Fitzsimmons, Vincent Gardenia, Gilbert Gottfried, Jack L.
