Offered here is this fabulous antique solid walnut partner desk, with Gorgeous carved details and amazing history. It is in good condition, and dates to the early 20th century. It was once owned by Frank Borzage, an early Hollywood director, who won one of the first Academy Awards for direction. This desk has seen the likes of Charlie Chaplin and many other silent movie stars sit at it. The carving details and woodworking is exquisite. The desk does have a few condition issues. It has the original hardware, however, some of the knobs are off, and need to be reattached. At least two of them will be included with the desk. Some areas of the wood detail on the desk are broken. These pieces will also be included with the desk, so that repairs can be made. I am unsure however if I have all the pieces, but the ones that I have will be included with the desk. There are a lot of dings and scratches to the finish, and a lot of fading and water marks on the top of the desk. The drawers on the back side of the desk do not open, however, the drawers on the front side are very deep and run all the way to the opposite side. The lower compartments on both the front and the back of the desk do open and are quite deep and spacious. They offer plenty of room for files or other storage. One of the desk’s feet is also broken and this piece will be included with the desk for repair. Some of the other feet have come loose, and are beginning to crack, but will also be included with the desk. The desk is 30.25" tall, 36.25" deep, and 66" wide. This is an amazing desk with an even more amazing history and a must-have for any collection, particularly who loves old vintage Hollywood history.
