Offered is an interesting relic of Temperance and Prohibition days. This large glass beer mug is embossed in the base "Good Templars Pony", a reference to the anti-alcohol group the Good Templar's, first started in the mid-1800's. Since a pony mug typically holds a small amount of liquid, this Good Templars pony mug takes a jab at the group by easily holding two pints of brew. The mug is pressed glass, with an applied handle and probably dates to about 1880 or thereabouts. The mug stands seven inches tall and is in good condition with some light scratches on the body and a few shallow flakes under the base. My lighting gave the mug a slightly greenish tint in some photos, but the glass is crystal clear. Buyer responsible for shipping costs. Paypal and other forms of payment accepted. |
