Edited by Edward Jesse
Original blind-tooled green cloth; gilt spine titles still bright.
Former owner's name in red added to the cover, same owner's embossed seals to several pages, his bookplate, contemporary (1899) ownership inscription to the front endpaper, marginal pencil notations and underlining occasionally throughout the text by the same owner (we presume).
Front
hinge cracked, but holding, minor speckling to the cloth, small piece torn from the corner of the
front endpaper, with all, still a very good, tight copy of this angling classic.

Part II has a steel engraving portrait of Cotton.
Over 200 woodcut illustrations; twenty-six steel engravings.
496 pages; Bohn's Catalogue (dated 1896) at the rear.
