THE COMPLETE ANGLER
or
The Contemplative Man's Recreation
of
Izaak Walton and Charles Cotton

Edited by Edward Jesse

London: George Bell and Sons, 1896.
 Bohn's Libraries edition.

Edward Jesse edited edition first published in 1856.

Original blind-tooled green cloth; gilt spine titles still bright.

Former owner's name in red added to the cover, same owner's embossed seals to several pages, his bookplate, contemporary (1899) ownership inscription to the front endpaper, marginal pencil notations and underlining occasionally throughout the text by the same owner (we presume).

Front hinge cracked, but holding, minor speckling to the cloth, small piece torn from the corner of the front endpaper, with all, still a very good, tight copy of this angling classic.

Tissue-guarded frontispiece steel engraving portrait of Walton in part I.

Part II has a steel engraving portrait of Cotton.

Over 200 woodcut illustrations; twenty-six steel engravings.

496 pages; Bohn's Catalogue (dated 1896) at the rear.
