THE GRASS HARP:
 A Play

by Truman Capote

New York: Random House, (1952).

First edition, first printing.

A fine copy in textured tan boards with white titles on green leaves with green embossed decorative border to the front cover and with gilt titles to a green panel to the spine; in a nearly fine dust jacket that shows light tanning to the spine panel, with a very short scratch to the front panel and minute wear to the lower spine edge.

A lovely, fresh copy.

Capote's play, based on his autobiographical novella, illustrated with striking black-and-white photographic plates with Life-magazine Cecil Beaton designed poses and with scenes from the original 1952 Broadway production directed by Robert Lewis, designed by Cecil Beaton, with music by Virgil Thomson.

Later musicalized and filmed.

ELUSIVE IN SUCH NICE CONDITION!

Quite a desirable literary collectible by the author of IN COLD BLOOD.
