Set in 1849, this young adult novel features Angeline, a girl who travels first to New York City and then West with her family in a covered wagon.

Angeline's adventures on the trail involve, a steam railway,  descriptions of people with gold fever, a buffalo baby, Indians, a stagecoach, an accordion, prairie dogs, camps, school lessons, and more.

Bookplate to inside front cover, lower spine edge bumped, else very good in green cloth with titles embossed in deep-blue to the spine and front cover and with an in-set color illustration depicting a father and daughter on the front seat of a covered wagon to the front cover; in an about good  chipped and shelf-worn dust jacket with tears, creases, one inch pieces missing from the upper and lower ends of spine panel.

The dust jacket quite is a rare commodity in this vintage book ensemble.
