Paper specimen book for Brown Company in Holyoke, MA
 Mardi Gras Theme

Holyoke, MA: Brown Company, ca. 1975.

A well-produced staple-bound sample booklet showing various color paper types, font styles and sizes, and methods of graphic presentation, produced by the Brown Company of Holyoke, Massachusetts (apparently no longer around, as far as we can tell). This was for the "Linweave" style of production at the time. The subject was Mardi Gras, and features photographs and drawings as sources of illustration. Fonts and layout appear to be some time in the 1970's. Short text accompanies most of the illustrations. The second page has a pasted-on thin-polymer replica of the Mardi Gras dubloon.

An interesting item for the discriminating sample collector.

Light brown wraps with black title on front and black company name and address on back.

Quarto: size is 8-1/2" by 11"
