This is one of the many items from a family related collection of Joaquin Miller material we acquired many decades ago at auction. Joaquin Miller (Cincinnatus Heine Miller) 1837-1913 was a Western poet, author and frontiersman. He was nicknamed the "Poet of the Sierras". His various other colorful occupations included being a miner, lawyer and judge, newspaperman, Pony Express rider, and horse thief.
