Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the classic 1940's comedy/drama romance, ADVENTURE, released in 1945 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by Victor Fleming. This dark, romantic, complicated drama is about a rowdy merchant mariner (Clark Gable) and sophisticated librarian (Greer Garson) who clash over their lifestyles and values - and then fall in love. The cast includes Joan Blondell, Thomas Mitchell, Tom Tully, John Qualen, Richard Haydn, and Lina Romay.
This is the film which had the famous tagline, "Gable's back -- and Garson's got him!" The image features a close interior shot of Harry Patterson (Clark Gable) confronting beautiful blonde Helen Melohn (Joan Blondell) as she packs her suitcase. Affixed to the verso is the original paper snipe caption that describes the photo and the production and a blue rubber stamp crediting the "Free Lance Photographers Guild Inc." It is in very fine- condition with random signs of light wear on the corners. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.
