25 Seeds Dodecatheon Meadia White Midland Shooting Star Shade-Loving Perennial

A tough plant that is easy to grow from seeds. Shooting star is one of the most desirable perennials that will grow in a shady spot. They form a large clump of slender leaves that are topped with stems holding arching beautiful white flowers with swept back petals.  They even pack a fruity perfume that will infuse the air on a still warm day. Closely related to primulas, this is a choice plant for growing in light or even full shade as long as soil is kept fairly moist (but not soaking wet). Try planting it in borders, rock gardens or under trees and shrubs.  Will die back to ground level, but will re-emerge every spring. Can be started indoors in winter to be transplanted outdoors in spring. Or can be sown directly into the ground or containers in spring or summer.  When sowing in winter spring or summer, results are better when seeds are refrigerated for a month. If sown in fall, just let winter do its thing.
