THE GIRL IN THE SPIKE-HEELED SHOES

A Small Town Gal…But Fast

By: Martin Yoseloff

Copyright: 1949; 1950 for this assumed first edition paperback version

 Published By: Popular Library (#265)

This Soft Cover Vintage book (192 pages) is in bad condition.  This vintage books unfortunatley has some major aesthetic issues including some dried on residue and scrapes to front cover, some writing to first page.  Pages very age-toned, and separated at numerous points (though all pages present).

This is one of a number of books I got from a serious collector.  They were all bagged and most, unlike this one, are in near pristine condition.  I took them out of their plastic collector’s bags in order to provide great photographs of the awesome quality of these books.

Extremely collectible but in bad condition!

From Back Cover:

Free and easy.  That was Maybelle Reardon – a girl with a bad reputation.  The town of Kenyon called her a hard ticket – which she was.  By day she worked as a restaurant waitress or clerked in stores.  At night she hung around street corners looking for pick-ups.  And if a guy wanted her that was okay, too.

Yes, she took love where she found it – until she met Jim Paige, a packing house cutter, and the world suddenly stood still.

Here in this provocative novel Maybelle Reardon’s whole life is laid bare – her poor childhood, her seduction, her tawdry love affairs, her marriage and tense moment of decision that faces her when she learns of her husband’s infidelity.

Fantastic Vintage gift for the romance fan or vintage book collector in your life!!!!!
