Here are two 10-1/2"dinner plates of the same pattern, Blue Onion #3318, but are from two different manufacturers. Both were made in Japan. This is a blue on white pattern with fantasy flowers, leaves and onion bulbs. Thay have a scalloped, raised edge. They would match nicely with Delft work. There are many different interpretations of this pattern, which date back to the 18th century. The bulb may be inspired by Chinese pomegranates. One of the plates was made by Sone China, which was popular with servicemen in Japan during the 1960's. Sone China closed in the 1970's, perhaps it was taken over by Castel Court, which is the manufacturer of the other plate. I can't find any further info. about this. Other than a small chip on the edge of the Sone plate, shown in picture-There are very few signs of use. All my items come from my clean, smoke free home.
