THESE ARE THE COMIC BOOKS THAT MY MOTHER WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO READ!!!

Actually, until I was a teenager in the 1960s, I didn't even know that comic books like this had EXISTED (until the Comics Code Authority of the mid-1950s had snuffed them from existence!).  We had lived in a suburb of a suburb of a suburb, and the few comic book spinners available to kids of my age in the 1950s featured only Dell Comics, DC Comics, Classics Illustrated, and an assortment of other "safe" comics that could only give nightmares to children whose psyches had been damaged by attempts to question the logic of animals who could talk.  In other words -- NO HORROR COMICS!!!  Until years later, after my exposure to EC Comics, I was shocked to discover how much had been withheld from us -- and now gone forever. . .until those good folks at PSArtbooks began reprinting these beautiful, full color collections of all those juicy, horrible tales that had been concealed from our innocent, impressionable minds.  I have raved about these PSArtbooks reprints in the past; and I'll continue raving -- these are some of the BEST reprint editions that I've ever encountered; and Volume 1 of BEWARE is no exception.  This volume contains complete reprint pages from issues 1 (January 1953) through 7 (January 1954), and includes stories and artwork by HARRY HARRISON, GERALD ALTMAN, VINCE NAPOLI, HENRY KIEFER, ROY G. KRENKEL, RICHARD KAHN, AL GORDON, ED HAMILTON, JESSE MERLEN, PAUL S. NEWMAN, LEO HAGER, MARTIN SMITH, JOHN FORTE, JACK MILLER, WILLIAM ZEILER, ALBERY TYLER, A. C. HOLLINGSWORTH, JOHN DUFFY, JOHN BELFI, MYRON FASS, and SID CHECK, amongst others.  So scare yourself silly, and find out from what the Moms of the 1950s were protecting us!!!
