Update your items as a group
a.k.a., what happened to the Batch Item Editor?
We're always looking for ways to make your lives easier; selling your items is hard enough without having to hassle with finicky web sites. A while back, we started the Bonanza Fashion Exchange as a way to give us more excuses to play with our site. One of the things that we noticed right off the bat is that our old "Batch Item Editor" could use some love.
What did we change?
We had two goals: make the existing features more delightful to use and give new users easier access to them. Here are some highlights:
-
Better location. We moved it to its own tab in the edit booth screens, which should let new users find it. We also think it makes sense to put all of our "booth editing" functionality together.
-
-
Wider, more spacious layout. We wanted to give everything more breathing room. With a table full of item data, it's nice to go as wide as you can; it lets you add more columns, which leads us to...
-
-
Customizable columns. Want to change your shipping costs for the items that have the most views? Shipping price and item tags together? Now you have more ways to analyze your inventory, just by adjusting the columns.
-
-
Clearer filters and item selection. Before you apply your changes, you'll get real-time feedback on which items will be affected. Nobody wants to make mistakes with their inventory and this should help give you confidence before anything happens.
That's great, but I used to be able to...
We changed some names and moved some things around, but everything should still be there. If you're looking for:
-
Batch edit items. We renamed it to "update items as a group." You can still get to it from the dropdown under "Sell on Bonanza on the top left.
-
-
Filter my items. The filters moved to a blue link on the left called "add filter." Clicking that link should drop down all of the controls you're used to that lets you find only items on reserve, etc.
-
-
Advanced stats. It's now called "item analytics." Also, you can get visitor stats on any of the pages by clicking "change columns."
-
-
Apply to all items. If you want to update every item in your booth (or every item matching a filter), you can click on the checkbox in the table header to select all items on the page. Once you do that, another button will show up next to the "Apply changes" button that lets you apply changes to all items.
We hope you like these changes -- but more importantly, we hope these changes will help you get your jobs done more quickly so you can get out and enjoy the delighful summer weather. Or find air-conditioning, depending on how hot it is where you are!

Cool, Ryan, looking forward to trying it out!
why is there no place to TYPE IN KEYWORDS??????
Magenta, you can still type in title words, which is a good place to have keywords.
It must of take’n a LOT of WORK to get this done!
SUPER JOB!!
Why is there a need to have Update Items as Group AND Edit Booth Options under Sell on Bonanza? You can get to Update Items under the Edit Booth Options.
The thinking was that a new seller who wants to update their items en masse (very common after an item import) probably won’t think to look under the “Edit Booth Options” tab, since they’re not interested in changing their booth options so much as updating their items.
Sorry, I’m thinkin’ like an old timer.

I’m not sure if this update has anything to do with the problem I noticed just today – when I am in ‘add or edit items’ and perform a search the ‘clear filter’ link is gone and I have to back page to get out of it.
Good catch! I’ll add a line that shows your search term and allows you to clear it.
The face list is a frown for me:( Most looks good though, the only thing that bothers me now is that I need to click on “Filter my Items” before pasting what I’m looking for. It was quicker before when I only had to paste and click filter.
I have been working with the older one and now the newer one today. I like the older one better. It is faster for me to find the items that have gotten relisted that I have removed previously which I really do not understand how they get back into inventory. This is a real big pain for me since the items have sold out and if someone buys a items that has already sold then it becomes a problems for them and me both.
You took away the filter by ‘Newest’ option. Please put that back in ASAP. Otherwise it is a nightmare to manage ebay imports.
We’re adding the “Sort by” back in — it was definitely an oversight that we left that out, which includes the Newest option. Thanks for letting us know!
agreed Newest for filter has to be there!
agree….need NEWEST!
I don’t see a newest filter either, I use that ALL the time!
Well, yes, the Batch Editor WAS getting a bit long in the tooth; rather like me, which probably accounts for my great affection for anything old. So it is nice to see the upgrade in appearance and functionality, and this assumes, of course that the thing actually work predictably and as intended. It is quite refreshing to see valuable programmer time and talent expended on the nuts and bolts at Bonz. Far better, I think, then the creation and unannounced deployment of certain other features which I shall not mention here.*

*That handling rating thingy.
Ack! Sort by “Newest” is gone! That’s what I used the most! Please, please pleeeeeaaaase give us that back.
@SunFlower, Ilove animation
@glasslass, sending bmail
@Bonz staff, thank you for continually working to make this venue more user friendly.
Thanks for adding ‘sort by’ back in there.
I like making things more user friendly, as long as that is what happens. But, if you continue to make changes just to make changes, then the older times like myself will get frustrated and leave. Like in the trouble I have had for a long time with google not working in accepting my feeds. You guys have all my info and links, but, are making it hard for me to figure out how to fix the google resubmit thing. You should be able to look at my site and tell me what is wrong??
I do like it, and it loads so much quicker for me, it is cleaner and looks so much better.. the old version took forever to load for some reason but the new version is so much faster woooooooooooooot! thanks
I love that I can finally see the quantity in batch editor and change them in bulk after importing items from eBay. Why is the importer unable to grab the exact quantities we have available for sale on eBay?
One simple change that would have made things a whole lot easier would have been to have the option of 25 items on a page instead of 100. That way one click could choose a whole group instead of having to click each item to change something in those types of items. In other words,I have all the jewelry together ( maybe 50 items) I could make a jewelry change on all items at once insead of clicking each item.
It is not as efficient in some ways because you didn’t include a default action for Enter. That means constantly switching between keyboard and mouse to click the action button.
It’s prettier, but not better.
I just realized one thing that doesn’t work correctly in my opinion. When I mark one item to change the quantity or the price and click ‘Apply changes", this item still stays highlighted. So if I don’t unmark it and continue making changes to other items, all of them will be changed. This is not the way it should work. After I made a change to an item, it should clear itself.
Thanks for letting us know. We have a report into the programming team to address this.
I like the new look, wide screen and love that I can change/add columns.
Still playing with it but why is it than when I use the “missing Traits” filter it shows all my items even the ones that have the traits already. Shouldn’t it only show items missing traits?
whoops, also when I sort by name it isn’t working.
I was working on some listings yesterday and found myself looking at this new (SURPRISE!… again…)batch editor. I thought it was because of a new browser I was trying out. After a lot of button pushing to figure out what was where it seemed okay but only used it for one specific editing process. Will see how it works for other things I have to do. I’m sure I’ll find it all sooner or later and understand why it is better (?)… by then there will be something else new, lol
Love it! Thanks guys!
I am trying to sort everything back into their categories that fell out during an update. Music category has only 9 items in it, when it should have close to 1000. So then, I search booth for CD, and nothing comes up.
This really needs to be fixed. I haven’t even looked at my other categories yet…I’m afraid to.
One more thing..>Be sure you click on the Select All box to clear all your listings after each change. I almost deleted a whole page of listings because this doesn’t release after an update.
We are not aware of anyone losing settings during this update. Only time that happens is if a user has a membership expire which will cause the premium settings to purge when the membership expires. If that is not the case with you, then please contact support and give us the details so we can follow up on this.
Sorry, NOT a fan of this new format! MUCH prefer the simplicity and unambiguous old format! Would be incredibly nice if we can be given a choice of using the old OR the new formats to use!!!
It takes way to long to apply a filter. It was much quicker before. It only took a second or two, now it takes a long time. I don’t care much for the new format, it’s not easier, it’s more cumbersome!
We just tested the filter and it seems to be working well. I think your comment hints that the placement of the filter is slowing you down. I will be sure to bring this to the attention of the programming team and see what we can do to improve this feature.
I have been trying to add Hard Tail Forever as a fashion brand since I joined and it is always rejected. Technicalities are responsible? Help! I have an exclusive Hard Tail Forever store.
Hi,
The first time using the browser after a boot-up, the filter takes about 10 seconds (watching the “Loading” go round and round about 10 times), but later when I do another search, the filter only takes a second or two. The next day, back to the same cycle.
Also it is much more cumbersome to use the filter. Now I have to scroll down, click filter, paste the data and hit Apply Filter.
Before I just pasted and hit filter.
I appreciate all the work that went in to revamping the Batch Editor…My thanks to all of you…..
Next time – would you PLEASE make it possible to do this..One at a time gets old fast…
Shipping options
$5.95 via USPS Priority Mail (2 to 3 business days) to United States
Ships in 3 business days
I want to be able to designate the type of mailing method…IE: First Class or Media Mail etc…We can do this one at a time or we can do this a smarter way through Batch Edit..
FabFinds already reported this problem, but I just came across it and wanted to mention it again. There is something wrong with Item Traits. I filtered the items (25 ready for sale after importing new ones from eBay), but after clicking on “Edit traits for all filtered items” it shows all the items in my booth. I can’t go through 1200 listings to find those new 25 that don’t have item traits yet. Please try to fix it as soon as possible. Thank you.
Search Optimize doesn’t work either. I was trying to add brand names to my products, but the system doesn’t do anything.
I realized one good thing though. The eBay importer started grabbing multiple quantities of items, not just one like before. This is great! And I love that I can immediately see how many are available for sale on Bonanza. I’ve been waiting and asking for this change for a very long time.
