PayPal Business Account provides credit card payments on-site

Consider this: as a shopper at checkout, you want to be sure that your preferred method of payment is available.  We’ve heard loud and clear that our sellers want to offer more payment methods to buyers. Why? Because it creates more opportunities for shoppers to complete a purchase, and that’s a win!

Towards that end, we’ve worked with our partner, PayPal, to make their full suite of payment methods available to Bonanza sellers with PayPal Business accounts.

PayPal Business Accounts Offer Buyers More Ways to Pay

If you have a PayPal Business account, also known as PayPal Commerce Platform, you can offer your shoppers more ways to pay. In addition to standard PayPal payments and PayPal Credit payments, sellers with a PayPal Business account which meets the criteria for Advanced Payments can also accept unbranded credit card payments. This allows buyers without a PayPal account to easily purchase items from your booth using their credit or debit card.

How Will This Benefit You?

PayPal business allows your booth on Bonanza to accept unbranded credit card processing (meaning a buyer does not have to log into a PayPal account to submit a payment to you). Learn more about the difference between a personal PayPal account and a PayPal Business account.

What do I need to do to offer these payment methods to my customers?

If you don't have a PayPal Business account, you can upgrade your personal PayPal account here.

If you already have a PayPal Business account but it is not connected to your Bonanza booth, you can reauthorize your PayPal account from the "Selling > Booth Settings > Payments & purchases" page.

Note:  PayPal requires a Personal or Business account for your payments to be disbursed to your account. Bonanza does not store your PayPal password and does not have access to your private PayPal account.

Currently, our integration with PayPal does not support sellers in Israel (IL), Japan (JP), or Russia (RU). Since PayPal is required for all Bonanza sellers, Bonanza is unable to support sellers located in IL, JP, or RU that do not have an active PayPal account registered in another country. We hope to welcome sellers in these areas back in the future.

Once your PayPal Business account is connected, you will see "Business with Advanced Payments" under the connected PayPal email.

Buyers will then be able to select the "Pay with Card" option during checkout and use their credit or debit card to send money to your PayPal account.

Instant Payment Notifications (IPN)

If you have a PayPal Business Account and wish to utilize the Instant Payment Notification feature, you must enter the URL "https://notifications.bonanza.com/paypal" (without the quotes) in your IPN settings.

Tips for secure sales with PayPal

  • For payments over $750 USD (including shipping and tax), be sure to get signature confirmation of delivery in addition to proof of shipment.
  • If a buyer files a claim, please promptly respond to PayPal's requests for information.
  • Ship the item to the shipping address listed on the PayPal Transaction Details page to ensure compliance with their Seller Protection guidelines.

Ukraine Conflict

PayPal, along with Visa and Mastercard, has announced that they are suspending operations in Russia citing the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine. This action will disable all Russian accounts on Bonanza. In the press release, Visa Chairman and CEO Al Kelly said the company "was compelled to act following Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine, and the unacceptable events that we have witnessed. We regret the impact this will have on our valued colleagues, and on the clients, partners, merchants and cardholders we serve in Russia. This war and the ongoing threat to peace and stability demand we respond in line with our values.” PayPal said on Friday that "Since the beginning of the invasion, PayPal has helped raise over $150 million for charities supporting response efforts in Ukraine, one of the largest efforts we've seen in such a short period of time.”
